Guess who's back...back again! We wanted to give a brief update on Marine Corps Veteran Steve. We met up with Steve yesterday to get a training session in after his most recent knee surgery. Steve holds a special place within the Valorfit organization because Steve wasn't in a good spot in 2022. Our interactions with Steve almost didn't happen. It was close. But he has changed the narrative and is full sending his effprts...while still giving himself some grace 😍 Steve is clean and sober from the substances that once made him not want to be here anymore. Addiction is real and Steve fought real hard 🫡 Yesterday we utilized the @concept2inc machines to give those "Marine Corps" knees a test run along with the @prvnfitness programming. Nailed it! We truly appreciate the consistent support from our friends @concept2greg, @nicjohnstonn, and @dwight.upshaw! We have recently started working with more Veterans in house and the benefits can't be explained by words on the insta. So we have asked a few of the Veterans we are working with to tell their stories in front of the 📹 The results that have come from the Valorfit program need to be shared...so we shall share em! 2023 was the year of growth for the Valorfit organization and me oh my was it V successful! We were given a once in a lifetime opportunity to partner with the @prvnfitness team and now we are an official partner. They are legit and the follow through of @nicjohnstonn and his crew took us in and we took it for a ride. We belong here, we're staying 🐐 Our organization is dfrnt because we take Veterans who oftentimes consider themselves broken and useless and through their own hardwork change their narrative by partnering them with consistent crossfit communicaties and holding them accountable 🎷 We have changes on the horizon. What we have planned through the PRVN brand is something that will literally change the way Veterans receive their "healthcare." Shout out Saturday to our friends at @crossfit_ripwing who was one of the winners of our Veterans Day fundraiser raffle with @prvnfitness 🐐 The goal was to directly support Veterans and they did just that! The affiliate raised over $5,000 with over $3,000 of that coming from @fortrileyjohnson and her V thoughtful homemade Valorfit 🔑 chains 🇺🇸 As one of the✌️ grand prize winners the affiliate won a @concept2inc erg bike. We truly appreciate the continued support we are getting from our friend @concept2greg! Jody was afraid her fundraiser would fail and boy oh boy did she prove herself wrong! With the support of @callik12 they hit a real home run ⚾️ We won't be sitting around waiting for Veterans to ask for help, we will proactively search for them. 2024 Fundraising Committee needed! The opportunities that came from a V successful 2023 for the Valorfit organization has led us to the need for having a fundraising committee 🥳 This committee will work with our friends at the University of Iowa, Iowa State, the University of Nebraska, and Vanderbilt University for the Valorfit Community Murph event and fundraising within the Veterans groups among all major universities. 🏈🏀⚾️⚽️ Members of this committee will also have the opportunity to work with our pals at Wells Fargo and other Crossfit Affiliates under the direction of our organizational policies and procedures. The "after" of the Veterans who have utilized the Valorfit program aren't shared as often because we don't like to apply unnecessary pressure, but we're going to share the shit out of this one! 🇺🇸 Charlie was one V first Veterans that was welcomed into the Valorfit program in 2018 utilizing fitness as a tool to replace old negative habits with new positive ones! Charlie didn't want to be here back then, and it was a real close call. But look at that dude now! 🫡 Charlie is a husband, father, and a successful business owner who has supported Valorfit in many ways since 2018! Today Charlie and his company did some work for us and it was pretty neat catching up with him again! Charlie did the work and he continues to consistently do what it takes in and out of the gym to keep him and his family moving forward. Gabe was referred to Valorfit by the Central Iowa VA Physical Therapy Department and then a chance run in with his spouse sealed the deal for our new Veteran to Veteran bromance🇺🇸🇺🇸 Gabe was once not V proud of himself because often times Veterans feel as though they don't want to be a bother to anyone and they end up in a hole they feel they can't dig out of...well we're now workin to change that thought process👷‍♀️ Gabe has a lot to live for. That is 285 Veteran gym memberships and a whole lotta life changin! 😍🇺🇸 @crossfitgeorgetown is the winner of the @prvn donation package that our dear friend and PRVN CEO @nicjohnstonn graciously donated 🫡 @crossfit_ripwing has won one of the @concept2inc erg bikes @nealey_webster and @crossfitundone raised over $20k with their @valorfit_games and were originally the other winner of the @concept2inc erg bikes but she said no thank you. Stephen was a part of the original United States Diving Team, that special one 🤿 We met Stephen at the @crossfitgames and he said he wanted to find himself again and he needed some extra support in doing so. Ope, there he is at @hoosiercrossfit Stephen has many life experiences that have caused him some stress in his life and he needed somewhere to let all of that go as often has he can. Stephen communicates genuinely and effectively and we are damn proud of his consistent effort! Veteran Suicide is what our program fights against 7 days a week with the gym memberships that are awarded to Veterans as a solution. We are grateful for the communication that Hoosier Crossfit has made with us and look forward to our continued partnership.
